About

I am born and raised Alaskan, I have spent ample time living in other states, and I enjoy travelling the world learning about different cultures, customs, and ways of life. I find gratitude in the beauty of nature and power in human connections. I began working in the field of mental health and recovery supports in 2014 on college campuses. I have experience offering a variety of recovery services ranging from group facilitation, recovery yoga classes, individual therapy, SUD education, event planning, and program development in Oregon and Georgia. Eventually, my path led me back to Alaska where I have worked as a clinician in a community mental health clinic as well as doing macro-level social work. My specialties are in working with people who would like to explore their relationship with substances, people in recovery from substance use, individuals seeking purpose and meaning in their lives, and addressing depression, anxiety, trauma, codependency, and disordered eating from a social justice and empowerment lens. As a person with lived experience, I offer a unique perspective in the therapeutic relationship that normalizes experiencing life challenges as well as life successes. I am a proponent for mindfulness, pranayama, and spirituality on the healing journey and I hold those approaches while also advocating for self-defined recovery. I view therapy as walking beside someone on their recovery journey. I am in network with Aetna and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alaska, so I bill them directly. For all other insurance carriers I will provide a super bill that you can submit to your insurance for reimbursement based on your plan. Credit card payments are taken at time of service based on co-pay/co-insurance or self-pay status. Education and Training: I received my bachelors of Human Development and Family Sciences from Oregon State University in 2015. I received my masters of Social Work from Kennesaw State University in 2018. I received my Chemical Dependency Counselor-I certificate in Alaska in 2019 and am currently working towards my Master Addiction Counselor (MAC) through NAADAC. I completed my Yoga for 12-Step Recovery (Y12SR) leadership certification in 2014 with Nikki Meyers. I completed my 200-hour Yoga Teacher Certification in multi-style yoga in Dharamshala, India in 2015. I completed EMDR training Seattle, WA in 2019. I completed a 50 hour Mental Health and Wellness Yoga Teacher Training in 2023 with Yoga Medicine (R). It is a great honor to live, work, and play on the beautiful land of Lingit Aani, also known as Juneau, Alaska. I want to acknowledge the harm caused to the original inhabitants of this land, the Aaku' Kwaan and Taku' Kwaan people, and offer my deepest condolences for the insurmountable loss that these tribes experienced. It is my hope that as an individual and as a community we can right these wrongdoings and to move compassionately forward, together, and do our best to prevent future harm.
